'80 Tercel water outlet. Bought online, it fit but points off at the wrong angle for an 81 3AC engine. Waited too long to return it.

broken pieces of the thermostat housing, and the old thermostat. I drove the chisel in between the gasket and the housing, Couldn't find PB Blaster, WD-40 worked good enough.

Cleaned gasket surface of the block. (At least I think that's the block.) The two studs had a lot of rust around them, which seems to be what was holding the thermostat housing in place.

A welder's mirror with a magnetic base proved essential for getting a good view of the gasket surface.
