where is the oil filter on a 2002 Mazda Protege located?

I want to replace the oil filter on a 2002 Mazda Protege
I have looked underneath the car for a long time and havent find out where the oil filter is. Anyone know where its at?
oil filters are usually by the oil pan. look for the oil pan and then around it and you should see a cylindrical type can. That's your oil filter.
