How do I replace the plug thats on top of my 01 Ford Taurus alternator?

Me being the very non car guy that I am - was putting back my alternator after working on a different problem. to unplug the alternator's plug I used a screwdriver breaking the the small grip that is to hold it in place....How do I fix that?
