Wrote Discover card check for more than cash advance limit???

I have a Discover card with an $18,000 credit limit. I used an access check for $17,225. I just found out that checks from the credit cards are cash advances not charges and my cash advance limit is only $8800. I contacted Discover but haven't heard

What will most likely happen is that the check will be declined due to insufficient funds or a similar reason.

You'll probably get a fee from the company you tried to pay with the credit check, but that's about it.
