What is the difference between brake pad materials (Automotive)?

Ceramic, Kevlar, Organic? Im sure Kevlar is best though..
It's a myth that Ceramic/Kevlar are automatically the best. Semi-metallics have the best stopping power because the strands of steel dissipate the heat better. But they are much harder on rotors--eats them up. They also make more noise and give up lots
