Can I replace my Aprilaire furnace filter with a regular filter?
The replacement media for my Aprilaire furnace filter cost almost $60 the last time I replaced it and I want to try using a regular filter from a hardware store. There is a plastic case which holds the pleated media and the pleats are separated by plastic
Yes it could be done but you may have to make something to adapt a close fitting filter into it.
I have made filter adapters for these units that now use a different filter cartridge of the same performance that are much cheaper ($28).
