Does a cowl hood reduce airflow to the radiator?

I'm thinking about buying a cowl hood for my 96 yukon because I read that it cools the engine more than a stock hood. but i still want airflow to the radiator.

If it's a non-functional cowl hood, then it will not only let heat out of the engine, but also increase radiator airflow at speed. If it's a functional cowl hood, then it would have no effect on either.
