My buddy is changing his oil on his 05 acura tsx. He swears up and down that all you need to do is hand tighten the oil filter and it will be fine. Now I have always used the oil filter tool to tighten it to specs. (Hand tighten then tighten it 3/4
Yeah it'll be fine as long as he's putting a strong hand on it. Also keep in mind that when the car heats up, everything expands. This will make it even tighter.
