Does the cabin air filter affect cooling or just improve cabin air quality?

I have a Chevy Siverado. Troubleshooting the AC - Runs cool for about 10-15mins, then blows warm air. I recharged the freon, still the same. The clutch IS engaging. Before I take it to the shop, I was wondering if dirty cabin filters would play a role

No. You AC system has a leak somewhere. Experience tells me that 99% of the leak is from the condenser. If after you charged the freon, the AC worked for 10 minutes and blew warm air, that means the leak is very serious. You need a new condenser.
