What is the best way to convert to xenon headlights in a 2002 Volkswagen Passat?

I have a 2002 Volkswagen Passat GLX 4motion (b5.5). Right now it has projector halogen headlights. I wanted to put xenons in it. But OEM bi-xenons, the ones found in the Passat W8 cost about $800 from what I have found online. Would a xenon kit be

do youf self a favor and just let it the way it is as you see the conversion cost $800 and then what if it does not work you are out the $800 ... just drive it and be safe......
