How many watts do I need in a jumpstarter?
I'm considering buying self-contained jumpstarters for my wife and/or daughter in case they ever need a jump and there's not another car around. Wife drives an '06 Toyota van; daugher drives an '03 Chevy Tracker. I see boosters of all different wattages
it's not the wattage it is the AH (Amp Hour) capacity of the battery
Most available have a 16 AH battery which gives a cranking current of over 500 amps for 20 secs before going totally flat.
Go for one that has the least number of additions.
