on occasion I hear rattling from either the harmonic balancer or crankshaft!?
I have a 1997 Mitsubishi Galant with a 2.4, 4 cyl, it ran dry on oil and started this noise, I have topped off the oil and was hoping it would fade out, It is not a constant noise, but appears every 5-10 minutes and then goes away! on occasion I hear
if you ran it low on oil and the noise started then you have hurt the main and or rod bearings it will get worse quick get it to a shop for a correct diagnosis
