Activated Carbon Filter Media?

Hey guys.

I just bought one of those AquaClear activated carbon filter media from a local pet store, since I couldn't find the regular carbon cartridges my filter uses.

I followed the boxes instructions by rinsing it throughly

sounds to me that the carbon in the bag,has been pulverized.the particals are so small they find the way out of the bag.ten minutes.is way too long to be rinsing this carbon.the dust generated from the shipping/handling should have been rinsed away in
